  • Read Chapters 14-23 of The Children’s Homer
  • Begin “Greek God Business Card” activity (Due Oct. 14th)
  • Complete the following on the same page: It may be typed.
    • Define the following vocabulary words:
      • discourse, succored, scathless, reproach, crucible, route, upbraid, distaff, bulwark, henchman, barrow, lament, devices, vestibule
    • Answer the following questions: Answer questions for Chapters 14, 15, 18, 20, & 23 using complete sentences. It may be typed.
      • Chapter 14:
        • What omen almost made the Trojans turn back from battle?
      • Chapter 15 :
        • What did Hector gain from Achilles’ stolen armor?
        • What did Zeus regret?
        • Why does Achilles have regret and why does he enter into battle after all?
      • Chapter 18:
        • What is Antenor’s impression of Odysseus?
      • Chapter 20:
        • List the four ways Achilles honors Priam.
      • Chapter 23:
        • Name the symbols of Helen’s prophecy and their representation.


Ancient History
  • Read MOH Lessons 28-30 (Samson, Zhou Dynasty {Chou}, and Samuel)
  • Complete the following Notebooking pages:
    • Samson: Complete by illustrating The Three Vows of a Nazarite
    • Zhou Dynasty: Complete by writing facts about the people and places listed on the page
    • Samuel: Complete by writing down events from Samuel’s life.  The events can be found at #4 of Exercise 30B in your Mystery of History Book.
  • Complete the following assignment:
    • Read 1 Samuel Chapters 5 & 6 to find out what happened to the Philistines when they stole The Ark of the Covenant.
    • Create a comic strip to illustrate this story. You may draw it yourself or use a computer.
